My initial experience with Arnold began months ago when I first decided to explore having my existing floors and stairs replaced. The job consisted of new flooring throughout the house, removing some existing knee walls, and installing new newel posts, handrails, balusters, and stairs. For me, materials selection was not an easy process. As the basement floors were installed directly on the concrete sub-floor, an engineered hardwood was necessary but I wanted to have solid hardwood installed throughout the remainder of the house. Finding a match for the flooring I selected for the majority of the house was no easy task. However, throughout the entire selection process, Arnold was courteous, responsive, and really helped guide me to the best selection. While others had insisted what I wanted could not be accomplished, Arnold was always dedicated to my happiness and was the only one who said “it has to be right” instead of trying to get me to utilize something that I didn’t want, which would have resulted in disappointment. Once a final materials selection was made, which was a special order, Arnold remained in regular contact and was always available if any questions arose.

After everything arrived and acclimated, the installation began and Arnold was there with his crew every step of the way. He was the commensurate professional and the kind of person with whom you are glad you have done business. He made what may have initially seemed like a disruptive process smooth and as relaxing as it could have been considering the actual body of work. His crews, one for the floors and one for the stairs, were punctual, friendly, and clean. These attributes are only out shadowed by the quality of the work they performed. I even recall telling them directly on numerous occasions that they are artists. There were a few times where additional input was needed on exactly how I wanted a particular task accomplished or something fashioned and each time, they offered excellent suggestions and implemented everything perfectly. It seems to me like an increasingly rare thing nowadays to have such talented craftsman at your service as opposed to someone who simply installs a thing and moves on to the next job.

Once the job was completed, Arnold thoroughly reviewed the entirety of the project with me to ensure that I was satisfied, which is an understatement. This time also allowed for any touch ups or any rework that may have been needed. However, I am very pleased to say that no such thing was required. When the crew announced at the end of the last day that they were done, they were truly done. Not even a single dab of touch up paint was required. On top of being talented at their craft, these teams are also meticulous. I am absolutely thrilled with the results and the project as whole turned out even better than I could have imagined.

Summarily, Arnold exemplifies customer service and craftsmanship. It was an absolute pleasure to do business with him. I consider myself fortunate to have made the right choice by selecting him and Vintage Wood Floors and Stairs for my project and certainly won’t hesitate to contact him again should I ever need such services again in the future.
